It is important when creating art, to have a theme. This keeps you focused and gives a purpose to your art. In college, my original theme was “turtle shell”. I was in a process of coming out of one and admired the protection and beauty of turtle shells.

Recently one of my pastors was speaking about the relevance of “garden” in the Bible. The connections blew me away. I have been a failed gardener and wonder in amazement at the folks who have the perseverance to grow beauty. In the beginning God the create incredible beauty of his earth garden. I have always been totally awed by his garden.

The Bible has a main theme of garden. As I explore this, I am so amazed. From the first mention of garden in Genesis 2:8 where God is credited with having made a garden to the last mention in John 20:15 when Mary sees the resurrected Jesus and thinks he is “the gardener”. How perfect is that???

In my imperfection, I have started using the theme of garden in my artwork.

Throughout this site you will see "horse stuff". I am one of those horse crazy girls who "never grew out of ".

The Bible verse that was "written for me" is:

"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war." Revelation 19:11

To me this verse symbolizes hope but at the same time it demands we live correctly.

As a person with a great passion for horses, this verse speaks to every level of my being.

I know people argue about whether or not animals go to heaven...  and I know that Revelation is symbolic....  and I know we won't know for sure until we get there....  but it is obvious from this verse that God is not offended by the thought of animals in heaven. God is Great!!
